Compensation for Woman after Trip in Asda Supermarket
A woman, who was injured after tripping in an Asda supermarket, has received compensation it is being reported.
Cindy Thompson was in the Asda supermarket at Mount Pleasant in Hull when the accident happened well over a year ago. The store had had some repair work done to the floor of the shop, but some raised metal studs had been left in the floor after the work was completed.
Ms Thompson accidentally tripped over the metal studs whilst she was shopping and fell onto her trolley. She suffered an ankle injury and was taken to the local hospital. Staff at the hospital found that she had torn an ankle ligament in the fall.
The Hull Daily Mail now reports that Ms Thompson has received supermarket accident compensation for the injury she received. This amounts to £3,775.
She tells the paper that staff in the store were very helpful when she told them about the pain in the ankle she was feeling after the accident.
All supermarkets and shops have a legal duty of care to provide a safe environment for customers to shop in.
