Mr Steve Maclaren is being sued for £3,500 and has to undertake three years of probation for attacking a fellow drinker in a pub in Arbroath, Scotland.
The attack happened on July 5th last year after the victim, Ian Mostyn, left the bar in which he was having a drink as he did not want to be in the company of Mr Maclaren any longer. Later that night, Mr Mostyn saw Maclaren again and the attacker approached him shouting threateningly. He then asked why the victim had left the previous bar without telling him and then began his attack punching Mr Mostyn in the body and head leaving him seriously disfigured. It is reported that after the attack Mr Maclaren put his arms above his head and bowed as if he has just won a fight,
Mr Mostyn suffered from a double fracture to his jaw and had metal plates inserted into his face. During his recuperation Mostyn could not open his mouth, but had to survive on a liquid diet while he was in hospital.
The attacker has apologised for his actions and explains that he is full of remorse for what he did. Mr Maclaren said that he was inebriated at the time and cannot remember most of what happened that night and he is a totally different person when sober.
Maclaren, who is being sued for £3,500 and is under an 8-month restriction of liberty order, avoided a jail term after the judge decided that as a father and the main care giver of his daughter, a custodial sentence would have a negative affect on his child.

In the UK the number of car accidents is going up all of the time, and now Admiral, a popular car insurance company in the UK has just released figures stating that over 400,000 accidents occur every year that involve rear end collisions.
The figures reveal that 1 in 4 of all road traffic accidents, which occur in the UK involve some sort of rear end collision.
For most of these accidents the personal injury compensation claims usually involve whiplash injury claim. Whiplash is the most common type of injury you are likely to get if you have been involved in a rear end collision.
The managing director of Admiral has stated that many of these accidents could be avoided if we left more room between our car and the car in front.
“Where traffic is so slow moving, people tend to get irritated and drive a little too close. By doing this there is a higher chance that they will bump the car in front.”
Whiplash injuries can take quite a while to settle down and can be very painful, you may also be left with some sort of permanent damage as a result of this type injury, so making a personal injury compensation claim is essential.

Charles Leslie Nendick a worker at Manor Farm in Hull, was carrying out repairs on a roof when he fell through. The fall caused a gash to his head and fractures to his pelvis, spine and hip.
His employer Frances Caley did not take suitable precautions and was successfully prosecuted for breaching section 2(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, he was ordered to pay costs of £1858 and fined £8000.
HSE Inspector Alan Sheldon commented: “The hazards and risks of working on roofs are well documented. HSE has produced a lot of guidance over many years specifically for the agriculture industry where approximately 70 fatalities have occurred from falls in the last ten years. More than half of these resulted from falls through fragile surfaces.
“In this case a farm employee fell over 4.5 metres to the ground as he stepped from a ladder onto the roof of a farm building. He suffered serious injuries. The measures in place at the time were not adequate to prevent this happening”.
